SEA PRAYER: Tragedy of refugees
This book was recently published by my favourite writer Khaled Hosseini. His books are centred in Afghanistan and the turmoil going there destroying life and culture. This book on the other hand is about Syrian refugees. If you are aware of the little boy picture on every social media the little Syrian boy, Alan Kurdi, found dead on a beach. Here is the picture.

That picture broke my heart and a lot of people were empathising at that time. It was emotionally devastating. Somewhere inside us we know that war and destruction is not the right thing to solve matters, but this is not a war, this is all about some obnoxious peoples twisted mind. It's sad when you read about Alan. The death of a young boy was a toy, agenda for some people. They were not reacting to the mishap like empathetic beings. I never wrote about it, not even in my journal it was a devastating moment for me too, I was so deeply hurt that I became a spiritual person.
Is it not sad that people are killing people? How can we be the superior life form if we are not allowing ourselves to grow? How can someone be so sadistic as to kill and sleep in peace? aren’t they afraid of their god? Oh sorry! They are doing this for god. Their god may forgive them. I pray for them every day, may God bless them with peace; for a human so without a soul may rest in peace and leave to never come again.
UN states that: in the world, there are 20 people who are forcibly displaced out of a conflict or persecution every minute. Is it not disturbing?

This book was not a long read as it is a poem, not a novel. It took me half an hour to read and I know it won't leave me ever. The illustrations by Dan Williams will never leave me. I'm so deeply hurt that I don't even want to write about the book. It's so... so, distressing. After this book, I didn’t cry. I felt empty from inside and froze for the moment. I didn’t know how to react.
When you read about Alan on Wikipedia, you’ll find so many controversies that you'll be confused for a while if this was a tragedy or somebody tried to profit from this tragedy. I don’t care about who did what. The first question that must have been raised as if it was justified for a boy so little to live a life of refugee? Terrorism in the name of religion, the massacre of so many people, young people with no brains and ammunition, blind hatred for no reason.
The book was inspired by the mishap of Alan Kurdi. Khaled Hosseini has written as a father of a refugee son. Telling him about his life when everything and everyone was at peace with each other. When we look at our problems we assume that no one else will understand it as they are not in our situation. Its the same with refugees, we can never understand the amount of endurance they take, the amount of patience to live and hope that they will get their lives back. I'm not saying that we should not consider our mere problems as big ones because someone else has a bigger. No, life is not lived that way. The difference is they can’t do anything about their situation and we can (most of the time). I can’t even imagine a life without a roof over my head and these people were forced to leave their own nests. I've known people who think, it was their choice to leave nobody forced them to, well, I would run for my life rather than keeping self under a roof that may get shattered by a directionless bomb, normal people love their lives more than the house. Other countries not really being confident about the refugees is obvious, we never let anyone unknown inside our house, especially when we know that they are from a suspected background. The protection policies can at least act faster when such situations arise and why do we get depended on few countries? I never understood this thing. The refugee counts are mostly above millions. Then there are countries with 100 refugee acceptance, this is an impossible situation and then its explainable most of the time.
Can’t there be a way of getting rid of these anti-human forces? Rather than talking to them, can’t we just kill them silently? I know I said that killing doesn’t solve a problem but these are not people, these are THINGS, why do we even treat them like people and try to talk sense to them? These are robotic minds filled with destruction as their only motto. I wonder if they kill in their own if someone raises a question about the proceedings they plan. They are not people they are THINGS.
Things should be treated as things so that no refugees are born in coming future.
At the end, I'll add a few illustrations by Dan Williams.
P.S.: sorry about the picture quality, I don't own any camera or even a cell phone with a decent camera. Share my blogs more and more and subscribe too. Someday I'll be able to post decent pictures of my own. Thank you for reading and supporting to all. :)
