THE PARTICULAR SADNESS OF LEMON CAKE

Hey readers,

I know that I've been out of the blog for a while. Some different experiments happened, now I've decided to continue on the previous path. So, here I'm with a new book that I got hold of. Read ahead and don't forget to leave a like and comment your thoughts.

This was my first book by Aimee Bender. Its a story about Rosie Edelstein. A little girl who grows up with a gift she was not willing to have. This story was based on a completely new concept. It could have been a sci-fi but it wasn't meant to be. I can totally understand why. It's still a book I will ask you to read for no purpose. It's just for the time when you really don’t have anything to do, then kill your boredom with this book just for the concept.
To be honest, this book was a little frustrating to read. That's why it took me so long to complete and resolve to write about it. Most people didn’t like this book. I don’t know why they are seeing just the negatives, its a nice story. I agree that this could have been a little bit more elaborate. It felt like I was reading a movie, because movies are this fast and it runs in your imagination in the same way, you will find it difficult to imagine.
The ending left me a feeling of discontent. I mean it was still justified why it happened but it could have a back story for the one common question everyone had “WHY?” I guess it was because of the grandma. Nothing that we presume or assume comes in the story that's what held me reading the book.

Why I bought this book? I didn’t. My friend saw this book and liked the cover and gave it to me. I am glad I read it. It stirred my thoughts of being upset and cooking which can impart my anger in the food to those who are consuming it. It could have been like that in our regular life but it is not like that and we should be grateful. We should be grateful that we can’t comprehend the cooks feeling in the food served. The best chefs around the world along with our moms say cook with a pinch of love. Can we really do it with love? I cook to relax my mind leave all the spiral thoughts with the food and move ahead. What if someone ate it and after the first bite asks me how can I think all those things? I will be embarrassed for sure and the person who ate might not eat the food I make ever again. This story is all about this gift of Rose which turns out to be bad.
What happened to my no spoiler policy, its intact, about the gift... it is written on the back cover of the book. Its a regular family book, same hardships and  I'll recommend reading this book if you have any interest in the aforementioned concepts.

Happy Reading.
